CommentsSat, 03 Oct 2009 10:17:47 I have found this product to be of great use! My son is 2 1/2 but functions at a 6 month old and the only thing he can do is sit up - however he can not do it in the tub - so this device has been a life saver - plus I am able to place his big brother in the tub with him and they can acctually ineract a little - It works wonderful for therapy - he has been using this neck ring since he was 6 months old and we still use it today - the person who sells it is a registered nurse and will answer any questions you may have - I highly suggest any parent of a special child who has extreme needs to check it out! Sat, 03 Oct 2009 10:19:31 The website for the water neck ring is www.waterwaybabies.com - you can even search for videos on you tube - there a ton of videos showing how the product works. Mommy Lav Fri, 09 Oct 2009 22:47:19 I just received the wingbo swing today for my son as a gift from his grandma. Aedhyn is 22mths with global delays, seizures, cvi, and more. Trunk / neck control and motor skills are some of the major areas we are working with him now. I am a stay at home mother and am always looking for something new to try with him to see what will help. I have never found anything that I felt so positive about especially with a first try. WE LOVE THE WINGBO SWING! The positioning is perfect for him to use his arms to push up and his feet for easy movement. No therapy ball or floor positioning system has ever had this effect. I look forward to the following months to see how this swing helps him. I wish every child with special needs or not could own one! Tummy time is awesome! Sun, 11 Oct 2009 14:28:58 And I'm looking forward to Mommy Lav bringing that wingbo over so lil' Row can take a run at her! Anything that makes lil' Aedhyn that happy has to be great! Now for our story...our newest and biggest equipment addition would have to be Rows very first wheelchair! It's AWESOME! Pink chair with a black base...Rowans name in black on the seat front...cool little stickers everywhere, courtesy of her big sisters! We love it...then we took it out...we were thinking positioning and support...which this chair( the Zippie by Quickie) is fabulous for! But we were not prepared for the public response! The first person to look away as if embarrassed kinda made me angry..the second had me swiping at tears and running 4 the ladies room! The transition from bassinette style carriage, which seemed to draw every grandmother in 100 mile radius to the wheelchair, a people repellant was a difficult one! But undoubtedly a wise one if u go by Row! Who now is far more tolerant for a far longer time span thanks to the superior support and comfort of her lil' pink wheelchair!! Sun, 11 Oct 2009 17:35:22 Brextin (mom, Randi) and soon Aedhyn are customers of mine. It is my mission to reach all infants and toddlers around the world who would benefit from water/swim therapy. Fri, 16 Oct 2009 18:41:31 A friend of mine who distributes the Bumbo seat, has designed a bigger version for children with special needs. His website is www.childrite.com...I hope this information helps!!! angel Thu, 29 Oct 2009 16:38:38 We have recently purchased the Ekorre Canvas swing by IKEA...it's awesome! We found it on ebay for $47.50 plus shipping...it comes with an outside rope and ring set up but we've paired it with the Ironman chin up bar from Sears for $29.00...both have a wieght limit of 200lbs. It's worked out so well for us and I honestly believe we've seen improvement in Rows tolerance and attentiveness since adding this vestibular input to her therapy routine! Diane Neill Thu, 29 Oct 2009 17:40:30 Does anyone know about a catalogue called fledglings it has special needs equipment ie bibs or bibs that don't look like bibs or check the other webiste out seenin they do bibs etc as well . What about wheelchair shopping trolleys one with support around the waist, and the second with support for the neck, head, body and a crossover body support, campaign and make sure you get them to order more than one, it is surprising how theyget used, if you can't carry child to the wheelchair that is hopefully stored in the foyer, ring the customer services and get them to bring the wheelchair shopping trolley to your car for easyness, if they don't do this then compain. Campaign for these wheelchair shopping trolley's in your area @ shops/supermarkets. If you look on the contact a family website on facebook you will get the pictures to print off and send off to your store. Good luck. xxx Fri, 30 Oct 2009 04:42:53 Hi Candice Sun, 08 Nov 2009 12:35:51 I'm going to order a waterway for my son.He is turning a year and he doesn't even sit up.I hope it will help him therapy. Sun, 08 Nov 2009 16:44:06 Here are two helpful products Erin's Mom Mon, 23 Nov 2009 15:41:33 We had a CuddleBug on loan for a bit, unfortunately our insurance company was being difficult, and so we haven't gotten it yet. But it is really amazing. Great support and positioning options. It looks great and not so much like a medical device. My friend said it looked like "a tricked out stroller." The one downside is that even though it collapses, it is very large and we wouldn't have been able to transport it without our minivan. Hope this helps! This is A dad Fri, 27 Nov 2009 21:27:29 To all of you keep up the good work.... Tue, 08 Dec 2009 18:00:23 Dear Moms, carol Wed, 17 Feb 2010 16:51:41 My son is 4. diplegia CP. he just got his new (1st) wheelchair. tylite. It has been a wonderful experiance. he is higher and sits up taller than with a stroller. His big brother loves to push him and they laugh non stop. The attention form the public has been very positive for us. People hold doors and smile. They are more considerate than what we encountered with just the stroller. My son seems more interested in the world from his chair. he is non verbal so its all behavior cues, but I believe that he feels grown up. Wed, 10 Mar 2010 13:05:00 My name is Eva, and I am an early intervention specialist and the co-founder of adaptivePlay, and organization that adapts toys for children with special needs. We promote the use of Play as therapy for children with special needs. From my extensive experience working as an early intervention specialist, I have found that switch-adapted toys make it easier for children to adhere to their therapy routines. Unfortunately, parents and educators are not always aware of how switch-adapted toys can help with therapy. At adaptivePlay, we are constantly trying to to adapt brand new toys that children know and love. Leave a Reply |
